Dr Toh

Dr Tze’Yo Toh was originally from Sarawak, Malaysia and was offered a scholarship in 1993 to study year 12 at the Hobart College. He graduated from the University of Tasmania in 1999. Whilst Dr Toh was working as a surgical registrar at the Launceston General Hospital he completed his Masters Thesis “Heritability of Central Cornea Thickness – The Twin Eye Studies”.

Dr Toh worked at The Eye Hospital for 12 months prior to the commencement of his formal ophthalmic training in Christchurch in 2004.  In 2010, he returned to Australia for his Glaucoma Fellowship under the supervision of world renowned Professor of Glaucoma – Dr Jonathon Crowston, at the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne.

In February 2011 Dr Toh returned to The Eye Hospital, with his wife Cecilia, son Preston and daughter Ellie. Dr Toh has a special interest in Glaucoma, Refractive and Cataract Surgery.

Over the past two years, Dr Toh has completed a corneal fellowship with Dr Nicholas Downie, specializing in corneal transplant surgeries for conditions such as keratoconus and Fuch’s Endothelial Dystrophy, including the latest surgical techniques of DMEK and DSAEK.
