Our commitment to Quality Eye Care

Caring, Comprehensive Eye Care

At Launceston Eye Doctors, we are committed to providing caring, comprehensive eye care in a welcoming, professional, and supportive environment. Our mission is to deliver the highest standard of care by focusing on the quality, safety, and individual needs of every patient.

Our Commitment to Quality

We strive to provide patient centred care, ensuring every patient is treated with dignity, respect and compassion. We believe that the best healthcare is achieved by working in partnership with our patients, listening to their concerns, supporting them to make informed decisions about their eye health.

We are committed to continually improving the quality and safety of our services through ongoing staff education, evidence-based practice, and regular review of our clinical processes.

Infection Prevention and Control

The health and safety of our patients, visitors, and staff is a priority.

Our infection prevention measures include:

  • Staff trained in the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care’s Five Moments of Hand Hygiene.
  • Strict hand hygiene practices before and after every patient interaction. Regular cleaning and disinfection of all clinical equipment and high-touch surfaces.
  • Routine cleaning of the practice throughout the day to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.

If you are experiencing cold, flu or other infectious symptoms, we kindly ask that you contact us to reschedule your appointment.

Respect, Privacy and Confidentiality

We are committed to treating every patient with courtesy, respect, and kindness.

Your personal and health information is handled in accordance with Australian Privacy Legislation and is kept confidential at all times. We will only collect, use, and share your information where appropriate for your care, or where required by law.

Informed Decision-Making

We believe patients should be actively involved in their healthcare.

Our doctors will explain your eye condition, discuss available treatment options, outline any benefits and risks, and answer your questions so you can make informed decisions about your care with confidence.

Emotional Safety and Wellbeing

We are dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every patient feels comfortable, respected, and supported. We recognise that attending healthcare appointments can be stressful, and our team is committed to providing compassionate care that supports both your physical and emotional wellbeing.

Feedback and Complaints

We value your feedback as it helps us continually improve our services.

If you have a complaint, suggestion, or concern, we encourage you to speak with a member of our team. We take all feedback seriously and will respond promptly, respectfully, and fairly to ensure concerns are addressed appropriately.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that circumstances can change. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please notify us at least 24-48 hours’ notice or as soon as possible so we can offer the appointment to another patient.
